Market Re-Opening *New Location *New Time

I hope to see my local followers at the new location of
The Austin Urban Farmers Market this Saturday 11-3*

Tell your friends if you can't make it, or bring them along if you can. I'll have plenty of bars of soap, including Lavender*Chamomile, Lavender*Jasmine, Lemongrass*Turmeric and several more. ALL NEW: This week I'll be offering some soothing hand and body balm. A luxurious blend of whipped shea, coconut oil, and hemp seed butter to deeply moisturize the dryest of skin plus some rosemary essential oil to sooth aching muscles.

I think i'll bake up some mini loaves of my delicious onion and herb bread too - so come early and get the best of the goodies. As always I will be joined by Germaine of Munkebo Farms with her fresh, pastured duck eggs and meat, Robin of Austin Urban Farming with plenty of veggies and seasonal fare, Leroy of Cousin Leroy's BBQ sauce, and plenty of other local vendors with canned goods, fresh produce, crafts and more.

*Trying out a new, later time. Please let us know what you think about the change.

Things to Do Around Town

It's Friday and lots of options for holiday things to do are popping up more and more frequently. Tonight, i'll be helping Yard Farm Austin with their booth at the bleet-up on the roof of Whole Foods. We'll be giving out seeds and information and will have plants for sale. Should be an interesting event and i have no idea what to expect from the crowd.

Next Friday, however i will be joining the rest of the vendors of our Urban Farmer's Market to bring a fun, family friendly event to our neighborhood. Ever wanted to experience a farmer's market at night? Now's your chance:

Situated in a lovely, treed plot in south Austin: the Urban Farmer's Market features local farmers, artisans, foodies and horticulturists offering their goods every Saturday from 10 - 3. The magical cover of old growth live oak trees is the perfect setting for 'keeping Austin weird' and choosing to go local for your Saturday afternoon shopping. This small market may be brand new, but it has a lot to offer. From pastured meats to hand-crafted soap to fresh from the farm produce and living plants, the Urban Farmer's Market has it all plus a smile.

Join the Austin Urban Farmer's Market on Friday the 10th for an Evening at the Market: a special event from 6 - 10 pm complete with a solar powered stage, live music, crafts and family friendly fun. Let the vendors of The Urban Farmer's Market introduce themselves, and have a great time while shopping for some holiday gifts, or staples for the pantry.

You can get more information about the market at Yelp and on Facebook. I'd love to see you there! I'll have plenty of soap, bath salts for those chilly evenings, holiday wreaths made with aromatic culinary herbs, dog biscuits, fresh pasta, and coupons for my children's illustrations! It will be a great night with live music and local flavor, so come on out!

Bringing it To The Public!

I have an exciting announcement to all my local readers - my husband and I will have a small booth at a new urban farmer's market in south Austin this Saturday.  You can get a preview of some of the things we'll have available at our joint website, The Relic Jar. I'll have some of those lovely multiplying onions for sale as well as some chives for cooking or transplanting and some freshly picked herbs. Pocket the puppy will be in tow - so don't miss your chance to meet her, me, my husband and our creative wares.

I hope to see you there! Parking will be dicey, so please find a side street perpendicular to Manchaca.
