Things to Do Around Town

It's Friday and lots of options for holiday things to do are popping up more and more frequently. Tonight, i'll be helping Yard Farm Austin with their booth at the bleet-up on the roof of Whole Foods. We'll be giving out seeds and information and will have plants for sale. Should be an interesting event and i have no idea what to expect from the crowd.

Next Friday, however i will be joining the rest of the vendors of our Urban Farmer's Market to bring a fun, family friendly event to our neighborhood. Ever wanted to experience a farmer's market at night? Now's your chance:

Situated in a lovely, treed plot in south Austin: the Urban Farmer's Market features local farmers, artisans, foodies and horticulturists offering their goods every Saturday from 10 - 3. The magical cover of old growth live oak trees is the perfect setting for 'keeping Austin weird' and choosing to go local for your Saturday afternoon shopping. This small market may be brand new, but it has a lot to offer. From pastured meats to hand-crafted soap to fresh from the farm produce and living plants, the Urban Farmer's Market has it all plus a smile.

Join the Austin Urban Farmer's Market on Friday the 10th for an Evening at the Market: a special event from 6 - 10 pm complete with a solar powered stage, live music, crafts and family friendly fun. Let the vendors of The Urban Farmer's Market introduce themselves, and have a great time while shopping for some holiday gifts, or staples for the pantry.

You can get more information about the market at Yelp and on Facebook. I'd love to see you there! I'll have plenty of soap, bath salts for those chilly evenings, holiday wreaths made with aromatic culinary herbs, dog biscuits, fresh pasta, and coupons for my children's illustrations! It will be a great night with live music and local flavor, so come on out!
